Below is a visual example of roleplaying: Player1 Posts- The rain was heavy outside. Luke donned a thick coat and left the house, and the rain instantly soaked his coat. It was early morning, and the sun was still rising as he walked down the wet sidewalk in the direction of his school. Will it ever stop raining? he thought to himself. He kicked a pebble out of his way and continued walking.
Player2 Posts- It was nearly impossible to see out of her window. Jamie sat back down and sighed heavily. She really didn't want to have to go to school today, but what other choice did she have? She had already missed too many days this semester, and should she miss any more, she could be expelled. She hadn't even caught up on any of her homework! When she looked back out of the window, she saw someone walk by wearing a heavy jacket. Guess I'm going to be late if I don't hurry up and leave. She pulled on a thick white sweater and walked outside. "Hey!" she called to the boy walking ahead of her. She ran to catch up. "Mind if I walk to school with you?" This is play-by-post role playing. The objective is to play out what your character is doing/seeing/and thinking, and the interactions they have with other characters. Two or more players join a thread and interact with other through the characters. Whatever happens, what your characters say/think/do is up to the player controlling them.
