The most important trick I can tell you? Just do it. Everyone can learn how to do this, it's just about practice. I've been role playing since 2005. I was about 11 or 12 when I started. The more you practice, the better you become. If you take the time to learn a skill, you can eventually succeed. Role playing is my favorite hobby. I love it.
When I started in 2005, I was one of those junior role players who would write one or two sentences a post, and sometimes it was all conversation. I picked up on it immediately, but I wasn't very good. I would make site after site, purely because I love making sites. I've owned 5 or more at ONE TIME before. AND I played on several others. It was sad. But, I got better. No one taught me how to play. I didn't know of any site like this to teach me the basics of being a good role player. I just did it. I learned by reading others' posts, and by trying to write more, and since I'm OCD, I learned to make my posts not only longer, and sound better, but look better. And you can too. There's more to it than just what is on this site, but you can only learn it from watching others. And by putting it into practice. Find a niche. Find your style. Find a site, and play.
